Spring Meeting Highlights
The Unofficial Report:
Stay tuned for the Official minutes of the meeting later this year. Until then, here are a few highlights from this year's spring meeting at Harold and Dolly Gillman's home:
- Thanks to Louise Novak for reading a poem to remember the veterans this Memorial Day!
- Victor Lerish reported that the pond is still in good shape, thanks to the mild winter, minimal boat traffic and responsible land use around the pond. More details can be read in his latest report, by clicking HERE.
- Chris Shields reported the Loons are indeed back and have been seen taking an interest in the man-made island constructed last year! She suggests keeping a good distance from the island to assure continued interest by the loons to habitate on it. More on the Pond Life page.
- Members were reminded to abide by the boating rules for speed limits, invasive plants and wakes along the shoreline to preserve what we have. Here is a link to the Maine State Boating Rules and Laws.
- President Richard Hunt suggested we resurrect the effort to research and build a special page on the website devoted to the history of the pond association and the residents of Clemons Pond. If you have any old pictures, notes, or stories relating to your time here on the pond, please send them to one of the officers or the webmaster.
- Fall Meeting and Beyond. The fall meeting of the Pond Association will be held at the home of Bill and Joyce Stansky on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at 10:00 am. Be sure to mark your calendars.
