I just wanted to send a quick comment about the pond on behalf of my father Robert McGeachey who passed away at 59 back in February. There was no other place on earth he would rather be then at Clemons Pond whether it was fishing, kayaking, relaxing or playing with his grand kids. I have millions of memories on Clemons Pond and still try to get up there from Boston as much as possible. Its such a special and beautiful place.

We paddled our kayak around the pond today and cleaned up some things we found near the shore:
1. An orange crock (sandal/shoe) size 7, double strap, in excellent condition.
2. An aluminum boat mostly submerged, badly damaged & not usable, on the eastern shore between our place and McGeachy's. Pulled it out - will attempt to find the owner.
3. A fiberglass boat, mostly submerged, badly damaged & not usable, on the western shore opposite McGeachy's. Pulled it across the pond out of water - will attempt to find the owner. We thank Tony Materna for assisting.
4. Dock steps, wood, painted red (3 steps), on eastern shore in front of our big garage. Pulled it out & will discard.
5. Miscellaneous pieces of wood, plastic, swimming noodles, a dock ladder, in all stages of decomposition. Will discard.
6. Part of a dock, on the western shore opposite our place. Could not move it with our kayak - will have to return at a later date with a chain saw to break it into pieces so it can be discarded.
We paddled about as far as we could down Ten Mile Brook. Water was quite high from the rain the last couple of days and flowing rapidly. Our brook cleanup crew could get together again and push the brush back on another section below where we stopped last year. :-)
Pondly,
David & Normie

Greetings from Concord, MA!
The website is so beautiful and it seems that everyone had a great time at the Roast. I've officially transplanted down here to MA (yep, I'm one of them now) and just completed my first week at Hanscom AFB. I'll be working as a Contracting Specialist for the DoD (shopping for the Gov't). Not a bad gig!
Thanks to all the pond pals for helping Harold out at the Roast. I know he appreciates it.
Thanks for all the well wishes and waves on the road as I trotted along with Biscuit- way too much snow (and rain apparently) but the Notch is a pretty nice place to be from :)
(I love mail!)

All the best (as I sit on my couch...now that I'm wireless!)

Hi Everyone,
I would like to just take a few minutes to comment on what I thought was an absolutely perfect Pig Roast weekend. On Wednesday looking ahead to the weekend, I thought it had the potential to be a wash-out, but we must be doing something right, every time we needed the rain to stop or sun to shine it worked out for us. Now I want to say several well deserved THANK YOUS First, to Bill Stansky who started Thur. evening helping me get the tarp up to keep the roaster as dry as possible, for helping with cooking the pig, and for the much needed break between 1:30am & 4:00. Next, to Jack Macomber for all his assistance putting up the tent, tables, balloon, as well as helping to cook and keep Bill and I awake during the night between the downpours and stoking the fire every 15 mins. It may sound like a difficult job but the Keg, and all the stories (Lies) we told was enough to keep us going. Third, Walt Novack for cutting the lawn in preparation of the roast, and the time spent talking was very much appreciated and enjoyed. Moving on to Charlie and Ava for hosting the event as well as, Ava's always making us feel comfortable, and her chicken salad sandwiches are to die for. And to Carol Hill for her midnight contribution of Chips and homemade dip which was a terrific surprise enjoyed by all. Additionally, I want to apologize for anyone I may have over looked, sorry but I still would like to say thanks to all who showed up and brought so many wonderful dishes that we all enjoyed. I can't wait to see the Pictures everyone submits to Bill to put on our website
Thanks again,
Harold
P.S. Charlie and Ava still have a couple of chairs and dishes left behind.

I love Clemons Pond!! My parents, Bob and May Hazen, bought land on the beautiful point.....way back when I was very young. My five brothers, Bob, Jim, Tom, Dan, and Ken, and I pioneered this lovely place. It was a wonderful place to spend our summers!! Daddy was a school teacher. So, every summer we spent in Maine...clearing the land, throwing rocks out of the water, and some other things! We were not getting ourselves in trouble....we were working to make something beautiful and lasting! Now, my children and my grandchildren visit Clemons Pond and love it!
